What is NOT Changing?
Basic Eligibility
The FAFSA will continue to be made available on an annual basis for federal financial aid consideration and students must meet all eligibility requirements:
- Applicants for most types of financial aid must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or other eligible non-citizen,
- Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a degree-seeking student,
- Must be enrolled at least half-time (for most financial aid funds),
- Must maintain satisfactory academic progress (SAP),
- Must not be in default on a federal student loan and not owe money on a federal student grant.
Dependency Status
The requirement that determines whether or not you, the student, are required to provide parent information on your FAFSA remains the same. The FAFSA includes a series of questions and you must be able to answer ‘Yes’ to at least one question to be considered Independent for financial aid purposes. Federal Dependency StatusCWU News
